From an early age I was influenced by my parents with everything home made, the philosophy past down to me was, 'why buy when you can make.'
My mum taught me to sew and knit.
I learnt how to read knitting patterns and make adjustments to paper sewing patterns, becoming quite accomplished at making clothes.
But there was something missing, I didn’t realise at the time what that was until much later.

Years on I watched intensely as dad brought to life his designs in woodworking. I loved to watch his precision use of mitres and chisels, his tooled filled garden shed was a big attraction.
However I struggled to understand why you would need so many saws and hammers.
Little did I know back then that I would get to use similar tools in silversmithing.

In 2010 after a career change I began designing and making jewellery, exploring ideas using wire, polymer clay, resin and semi precious stones.
In 2019 I trained as a Silversmith with the legendary goldsmith Cassie Reed at her school in the
Jewellery Quarter Birmingham
School of Master Jewellers.

Continuing to develop my expertise and use of skills aquired, I started to focus on the design of contemporary silver jewellery together with the development of my existing brand
Silveripple Jewellery.
Silveripple Jewellery.
Today I know what was missing in my early creative days and that is ‘passion’.
Combining my early creativity and use of specialised tools, together with 'passion' is a great recipe….

0h, cake and tea in my studio workshop helps enormously!
